That&#8217;s when the first of five colleges was founded, which would later merge to form the well-known university. The idea for it had been in the works for a long time. The number of students wanting to study at BCU was increasing every year, but many applicants couldn&#8217;t get in on their first attempt. Some lacked the necessary academic knowledge, while others struggled with their English language skills. As a result, thousands of young people who aspired to study at Birmingham City University had to look for alternatives, often heading to London or neighbouring regions for their education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, in the early 2010s, the decision was made to open a college affiliated with the University, and BCUIC welcomed its first students in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_BCUIC_Offers\"><\/span>What BCUIC Offers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>BCUIC provides specialised programmes designed to prepare students for study at Birmingham City University.
